Solstice Yoga Nidra
Wednesday Dec 23, 2015
Wednesday Dec 23, 2015
This is a one-half hour, nourishing yoga nidra practice for setting deep intention in this time of calling forth a new way of being into the Light of our awareness and releasing what no longer serves with the retreat of the darkness. Please enjoy this in a comfortable, cozy position- perhaps snuggled up in your favorite blanket. I suggest having a cushion or block at your left side to rest your arm on, you'll understand as the practice unfolds ;)

Mantra Cafe 12/23/15

Wednesday Dec 23, 2015
Welcome to the first episode of "Mantra Cafe", recorded at my weekly mantra offering at The Recovery Cafe in Seattle, Washington. As this is the first episode it's just a little rough around the edges and I look forward to refining and fine tuning as my learning curve progresses.
This week we are exploring two mantras: the Deepa Jyotir Stotram (the verses to the Light of the Lamp) and the Ya Devi Stotram, a mantra to the Divine Mother, in celebration of the Winter Solstice and our Earth at the epihelion of her orbit around our Sun.
If there are comments you'd like to offer or even additional information or corrections I would be delighted if you would post them!
I hope you enjoy!

In this episode we are blessed to have with us James Boag, a scholar who is currently studying Sanskrit at university in Mysore, India.
James takes us through the first 14 Sutras in fifty minutes, a feat which has taken our group almost six months to achieve, shedding new light and providing greater depth to the understanding we have gained thus far. The rich illustrations and humor with which he describes the concepts make for a very enjoyable listening experience and we feel fortunate indeed to have had the opportunity to hear him speak.
